Humble Lord,
Servant,
vulnerable baby,
refugee, minority, outsider,
ordinary man and extraordinary Word in skin,
of humble trade, crafting wood and parts,
who created the stars, the sun and moon, earth and universe,
a stranger amongst your own creation,
seen but unseen, unknown, misunderstood,
mocked, scorned, and ridiculed,
abused, betrayed, and rejected,
by me.
And you went all the way to the grave
when I was still your enemy,
to die for all my sins and rebellion against you.
You were my friend and Lord,
embracing suffering and death
because you wanted to be in relationship with me.
You raised yourself up,
Son of God,
who was, and is , and is to come,
and I will live forever with you
in unbroken fellowship and love
because you loved, saved, and delivered me,
You are my God, my Lord, and my King.
Amen.
