Shine Like The Stars

O Lord,

Your precious Spirit is light and flame within me,

help me to tend your fire within,

with words of praise and thanksgiving.

Set a coal upon my lips,

forgive me for my grumbling and complaining,

sear away the lies I’ve spoken

in unbelief and discouragement.

No longer will I tolerate this bondage of my construction,

I stand firm in your truth, wielding my sword,

I’ll praise my way in faith

through the world’s darkness and confusion

following my Shepherd’s voice,

I’ll speak forth your beauty, love, and righteousness.

Let me shine like a star in this generation,

for your Name and glory alone.

Come quickly Lord,

Amen.

Forgiving Me

Lord,

you see me,

you know me,

and you died for all of me,

my sins, failings, and weakness,

help me to forgive as you’ve forgiven me,

renouncing my judgement,

relinquishing my right,

to hold my offender to justice,

letting go, releasing all to you,

open-handed and palms down,

trusting your judgment, responsibility, capability,

to make all things right,

in your infinite care and kindness.

Today I forgive myself,

and release my shame and guilt,

open-handed and palms down

into your ready and willing hands,

realizing you’ve known me all along,

and never stopped loving me,

guiding me, strengthening me

to fulfill your blessed purposes

in and through this life.

I worship you wonderful Redeemer,

God who is good, loving, and Life!

Amen.

Lord,

I don’t fit

I’m all elbows, edges, and angles

that doesn’t align, doesn’t match

with any place in this world.

And that’s ok.

You called me out of this world

picked me up from the miry clay,

and set me apart to be yours,

a citizen of heaven

made for eternal love and glory

spirit moving against the material grain of a fallen world.

I’m not rejected,

I’m chosen and special in Messiah.

I’m not a misfit,

I’m intimately understood by my Father.

I’m not wrong,

I’m unique and made for purpose by your grace.

So grant me grace to continue this journey,

as a foreigner and sojourner in a strange land,

understanding that all things will pass on this side,

and You will be waiting for me with open arms

to know You, love You, and see You clearly for all eternity

in the next.

I praise You Lord.

Amen.
